Découvrez les gagnants des premières ligues nationales qui participeront à la IIe édition de la Ligue de Débat pré-universitaire panaméricaine

The European University of the Atlantic celebrates the II edition of the Panamerican Pre-University Debate League in which schools from eight Latin American countries participate.

As reported in previous publications, a national league has been held in which teams discussed the issue: “The vaccination passport should be mandatory for all healthcare workers worldwide.”

On the Mexican side, the final was contested by the Camino Real team from the Camino Real Educational Center and the Pozol de Cacao 2.0 team from the American School Foundation of Chiapas. After a hard-fought final, the latter was proclaimed the winner of the national league with a total of 132.07 points compared to 124.57 for the opposing team.

As for the Bolivian national league, the finalist teams were Group 2 from St. Andrew’s School and the AISB Delegation team from the American International School of Bolivia. Thus, the Group 2 team from La Paz will compete in the Pan American League with 140.45 points compared to 129.47 for the other team.

On the Peruvian side, the teams that discussed the proposed topic were Team 6LB with 182.59 points compared to 178.35 points for Team 3LB. The first team is from the Lord Byron School and proclaimed as the representative of their country.

On the other hand, in the national league held in Nicaragua, the winner was Mantarraya from Altamar Preparatory School with 124.49 points, disputing a close final against team Línea 05 from Mantica Berio School, which obtained 117.08 points.

Lastly, the Guatemala final round took place yesterday between Colegio Suizo de Quetzaltenango with the Alfa Suizo Xela team and Colegio Alemán de Guatemala with team Deutshe Schule 1. The German School obtained a total of 139.99 points compared to 129.64 for the Swiss School.

De ce fait, les équipes gagnantes de ces ligues nationales représenteront leur pays à la Ligue de Débat pré-universitaire panaméricaine. La semaine prochaine, nous aurons les résultats des ligues nationales de la République dominicaine, El Salvador et l’Équateur.

Il convient de rappeler qu’un prix est remis au meilleur orateur des équipes finalistes, qui n’est pas forcément un membre de l’équipe gagnante. D’après le jury, les meilleurs orateurs des ligues nationales étaient :

  • Joshua Hernández du Centre Éducatif Camino Real de Puebla (Mexique).
  • Alejandra González Muller du Collège St. Andrew’s (Bolivie).
  • Fabiana Lucia du Collège Lord Byron (Pérou).
  •  Juan Gabriel Marenco du Colegio Altamar (Nicaragua).
  • Guillermo Pacajá du Colegio Suizo de Quetzaltenango (Guatemala).
